The professional development programme at the heart of the BFI London Film Festival is back!

19 July 2018

NETWORK@LFF is an internationally focused professional development programme at the very heart of the BFI London Film Festival delivered by BFI NETWORK.

2018 marks the fifth consecutive year that we’re partnering up with the festival to offer up to 15 UK-based writers, directors and producers a unique opportunity to join us for an intensive 5 day programme of masterclasses, screenings, events and one to ones with industry professionals.

Whilst given the exclusive opportunity to interact with leading international filmmakers and industry executives lifted straight from the festival’s programme, participants will also receive accreditation for the duration of the BFI London Film Festival.

This year, we’re looking for filmmakers who want to explore stories with big ideas at the heart of them. Filmmakers taking the simple narratives of life and dialling them up to 11 in terms of style and impact. They might be genre-bending stories, using generic conventions, or they might be smaller stories delving into rich themes told in a big way - we’re looking for filmmakers with ambition to make films that break the rules.

We’re focusing on films that think outside of the box when smuggling in their big ideas; the simplicity and ambition of GET OUT,  the sharp left turn into thriller in LADY MACBETH, the sexual awakening with a thirst for flesh in RAW. It’s the films that throw you just when you think you’ve settled in for a classic Sci-Fi, Horror or Comedy. So if you’re a filmmaker interrogating the social or political, but struggling to contain them in a neatly confined box, or you just want to break free of conformity - we’ve got just the programme for you.

Applications will close at midnight on August 13th 2018. No applications will be considered after this time.
