On Friday 15 May at 2:00PM (London), we’ll be bringing you the latest in our BFI NETWORK Live webinar series. This week, Oscar-nominated composer, Gary Yershon (Peterloo, Mr. Turner) will be speaking to emerging composer, Roma Yagnik (Metroland, Obsession) about his career and giving advice to filmmakers.

Gary Yershon's composing career spans over 40 years, encompassing scores for the UK’s leading theatre companies, West End and Broadway productions, radio, television, film, dance and concert hall. He is an Associate Artist of the Old Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is an Oscar, Ivor Novello Award, European Film Award, and Drama Desk nominee. Gary also teaches and writes about music. He is an Associate Teacher at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and a guest lecturer at the London Film School. For the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, he curates and presents Oscar Scores at London’s Barbican Centre.

Roma Yagnik composes for film, television, animation and theatre, writing emotive music in a range of palettes and styles including neo-classical, hybrid and electronic. Her diverse client list includes BFI Network Directors Benjamin Bee (Metroland) and Daymon Britten (Obsession), Sky, BBC, Hulu, Fox Digital, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Unicef, PLAN International, Cavendish music, Universal Production Music, EMI, Greenwich + Docklands International Festival and Tate Britain. She is a member of Women in Film and TV, Alliance Women Film Composers, Free the Work, Ivors Academy (previously BASCA) and is part of BAFTA Crew.
